I guess first of all this week, we should say Happy July 4th to all of the Americans out there. And also let Charo know that our daddy hasn't forgotten about them and will try to change our submission form to include attachments but until then maybe they can just email a picture to go along with their comments HERE. Just to show how thrilled we were to meet a friend from so far away, I thought maybe we could highlight a little bit about where Charo lives...Maybe that way our daddies will want to take us there one day. I'm hoping we could drive there and be there on the same day...It may be farther than that, but I'm hoping....Here's a lilttle bit about Cape Woolamai: The ancient pink Granite of Cape Woolamai, Phillip Island's highest point, rises out of the ocean with majestic beauty. Golden sweeping beaches linking the Cape to Phillip Island’s volcanic past make this a perfect place for a beach walk at any time of the year. The series of walking tracks and viewing platforms take the more adventurous to breathtaking areas such as the Pinnacles, the Woolamai Light and the old Granite Quarry. Cape Woolamai is home to the largest colony of Short-tailed Shearwaters on Phillip Island and is one of the most popular surfing beaches in Australia. This beach is patrolled by the Cape Woolamai Surf Life Saving Club in season.
First I also want tto say thanks for Grandma & Grandpa on poppa Tony's side for driving all the wy up to see us from FL and bring stuff for the opening of the pet store. I'm sorry that they only got to visit us for such a short time, but it was great seeing them. To finish off Ladee's thought about Cape Woolamai. It does sound really nice.....here are some nice things that we could do if our daddies took us there (besides play with Charo): Enjoy a choice of four coastal walking track loops with a variety of scenery and aspects from two to four hours and four to eight kilometers. Watch the spectacular return of Short-tailed Shearwaters, Phillip Island’s largest seabird colony (Late September to mid April) from the Magicland staircase or on a ranger-guided tour. Enjoy spectacular coastal views and stunning sunsets. Take in the 360 degree panorama from Phillip Island's highest point. Enjoy walking along the rugged surf beach or escape the wind and waves to the gentle waters of Cleeland Bight. Body surf and body board between the flags at the patrolled beach (in season).
Thank you Karen from "Cape Woolamai" for helping "Charo" submit a reply.
Here I am!!! Aren't I cuuuute! Hey guys, that was so nice of you to share so much info about my beautiful island home. You would have the beeeest time of all here, we could run and play and I could even show you where I ran into the bushes on the sand dunes and attacked an echidna (much like your porcupine). I would have won, reeeally, but mummy got cross and took me away. Grrrrr. Hey and the best thing we could do is chase the little fairy penguins that are unique to the island, so cute and they waddle. Our parents wouldn't let us, but we could have fun trying. Mum say's you guys will always have a place to stay if you come here, but I don't think ya wanna try driving here. There's lots and lots of water and I don't think you could drive through that. Besides, mum and I have done really big drives and still haven't seen the U.S. so I think it must be further than a day. Still, tell your dad's that with all the fun things to do here and free accomodation for all, you should come. Hope you had a great 4th. Mum was brought up in the States, so she still likes Independence Day, even though we don't celebrate it in Oz. Have a great day guys, growl and sniff and do all fun things, but not too naughty. Say hi to your dad's and tell them thanks for helping you with all the Island info.
Sniffs and licks to all.
