Ladee's yips:
To start we want to say thanks to everyone that has donated to Sam's broken leg fund (See our column from Oct. 10, 2003. Grandma called and said that their yard sale last weekend with donations raised about $700, so they are close to being able to get his surgery. Also alot of people have donated money at Fetch-It in the jar, including Uncle Rick & Dylan, so I know that money will help put them even closer when our daddies add it up and send it down to them.

This week in Jersey City (where we are), animal people took 42 cats out of someone's home and took them to the shelter. Now the shelter has 69 homeless kitties and need to find them families and need donations of supplies to take care of them until they get a home. They also got sent 15 viscious dogs this week, and they had to quickly find foster homes for all of the nice dogs that were already there, so they wouldn't have to be put to sleep. All of the mean doggies have to stay there until some legal court case is over. Anyway I just wanted to say that Sam and all of our family is really lucky to have good homes, and maybe someone reading this doesn't have a furry companion yet, but could go to our shelter and get one of their own to love and be loved back!

Woofer's Thoughts:
That was alot of animals to be taken anywhere this week. I sure feel bad for all of them, and hope they get good homes and soon! But even if people are reading this from somewhere else, maybe they could go to their own local shelter and find a friend to adopt. And even if they can't do that, they could always donate needed things like bleach, detergent, food and stuff. I mean even though we live in a pretty cool and happening place, I'm sure other cities and places have shelters that are in the same situation. I sure am glad I never got sent to one of those places and feel horrible for everyone that has or still is in one...
