Woofer's Thoughts
You know, we've noticed that when we go out for walks with our daddies, and Dylan joins us, he is always running and in a hurry. I know that I like to sniff around and enjoy every minute of being outside. I like to sniff and get petted by people walking by and meet other dogs and wander around. Dylan, as well as a lot of other doggies we see out there, are always in a hurry, like he has other things to do, and he can never wait on us. It just seems to me that he should learn to slow down and smell the markings.

Hey Woofer I know that I always sniff around with you and we both take our time, but after we discussed this I started thinking about it. I think maybe Dylan goes fast so that he can see more and do more in the same time, he may even go fast so he can get back home sooner and spend quality time with his family. I know sometimes near the end of our walk I'll speed up because I know we're about to get fed. So maybe this motivates him, knowing that there is something else after the walk, and that he got to see alot while he was on his walk just faster. I noticed that some doggies even run while they are outside. I know it's not what we do, but I can see why some doggies would want to go fast, heck I've even noticed that there are alot of "people" that want to go fast as well as those that go slow. So I guess it's just differences in what we are all about, and maybe they just smell the markings faster and move on!

Thank you Rick for helping Dylan from "Jersey City, NJ" submit his "rebarks".

Dylan's Comment:
Ok...I admit that I'm a fast walker....but just cause I don't spend 5 minutes at every smell, does that make me a bad dog? Sometimes those smells STINK! I don't care if the prettiest dog on the block left her mark there, if it stinks, I'm gonna hurry away. The way I see it, it's a pretty big world out there....and I've decided I want to see and smell as much of it as I can. There are squirrels to chase, bones to secretly pick up so my daddies don't notice, gum to chew, pigeons to run after, and tons of dogs to meet and bark at...ok, squeal at. So, I'm going to make sure I cover a LOT of miles each time I get to go out. It's all one big adventure! But, guys, when something stinks -- it stinks. Just move on!
