Dylan's Comment:
So now it's kiss up to Woofer week?
Ladee's Response:
I can't agree with your sarcasm more, Dylan...& I refuse to make this all about Woofer this week, so while he writes his portion, I'll sit guard and nip at him if he gets out of line. First things first, my daddies went to the US Open again last night and left us at home, but I learned how to flip on the remote and watch the match while they're gone as well...and I just wanted to congratulate daddy-greg's favorite player, Pete Sampras, on his impressive win over Roddick (& man daddy could I hear you whistle...you are louder than when i get in trouble). Finally just a little bit about things that are going on and I'm not sure if they go on everywhere because I just live here. It seems like there are simple solutions to problems that alot of humans just don't do. If you look in my daddies' window gallery from last month (Click Here to see it), you can see that there were 2 pretty bad car wrecks on the one corner and a boy got hit by a bicycle on another. It seems like if humans put up stop signs or stop lights at these intersections, it might help some. I walk across these roads everyday and see it happen alot, it scares me both for my life and the lives of my daddies. My daddies said that there had been some sort of study done in the past about making it better but nothing ever happens. It seems like our safety should be more important and maybe some of humans money should go to this instead of doing some of the other silly stiff that they do. I hope it's better where some of my other pet pals live around and want all of you to be careful!
PS Max if you read this...we got shipped off to the groomer yesterday..ugh.
Woofer's Rebarks:Well I don't see anything wrong with kissing up to m...(ouch...sorry Ladee). Er um, The tennis match was great...um...yeah. Did you see the pictures of me that daddy (ouch...sorry again)... Yeah I mean, I'm to the point now where I am so scared to cross the road and I get so close to buildings when the big scary busses and trucks go by for my own safety. I hope someone can help us soon! I don't want anything to happen to any of us, especially our good pal Dylan (& me of course--ouch)

Max's Comment:
Well it has been one week. Man I was very quite and very good this
week. I stayed real low. I was afraid that I would get taken on another
ride. Last Friday during one of the biggest down pours I have seen in a
long time my mom decided to take me on a ride. Ha,Ha what a ride..Guess
where that ride got me? To the Pet Motel for the week-end. Mom went
down home for the week-end and for some reason she don't like to take me
that far. I know it is because she loves me and wants me to be safe,
because I might get away from her at Aunt Kathies and Aunt Aprils and get
on the highway and that could be bad for my health. Because those
highways are just as bad if not worse than your streets in front of your
pad. Ask your daddy Tony he knows how dangerous it is for little pets and
big pets to get near those roads. And again it was so hot and rainey I
would have been miserable. So I guess mommy made the right choice for
both of our benefits. It is a real nice place and they feed me good and make sure I still get my treats twice a day, and they take me
for a walk twice a day then I get to stay in a nice room that has a
inside run and outside run so I can come and go as I please. I like that!!
But I am oh so glad when I see my mommy back to get me and take me back
home. NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!
Glad you enjoyed watching the U.S. Open, you are on one smart gal to
learn how to use the remote. Heck I can't even find ours. Mommy keeps it
out of my sight. I think she thinks I will chew it up. Not Me! But I
get to sit in her lap in the evenings and watch Emeril Live. What a
deal... But she will rub and pet and love me the whole time so I am not
complaining. Mommy is off today and we will spend the whole day
together. Got to go now Ladee, you take good care of yourself and watch those
roads. Oh by the way Ladee you are so cute!
Later

Dylan's Comment:
Ok..first I was just being sarcastic about it being Woofer Week.
I think Woofer is one of the greatest and I actually think he should
have a week. Of course, in my eyes, every week is Ladee week, so don't
get upset cutie. And, by they way, she is SO cute right now with her
new hair cut, I can hardly stand it!! Woofer looks pretty cool too,
all spiffed up. He's a handsome dude if I can say that. I don't think
I'm gay or anything...not that there's anything wrong with that. I can
just appreciate a goodlooking guy when I sniff him. I wonder when my
Daddies are going to send me to the groomer....since they haven't known
me too long, I gues they don't know what I'm going to look like with
longer hair...but I sure hope they don't want it too long. Cause, short
hair is in, and I need to keep up with the fashions! So, Ladee, I
totally agree about the busy streets and the problem outside our house
where there is no stop sign or light. Remember the other day when yo!
u and I and Woofer saw a police car almost get rammed by a car speeding
down the street!!! Maybe if the cop car had gotten hit, they would
start paying attention. Now, kids are getting hit too....I'm glad we get
to be on leashes so we don't accidently go in the street and get hurt.
Maybe they should start putting leashes on kids! You know what I
can't wait for? The Walk in a couple of weeks!! (Editors note:Go here for registration information.) How much fun is that
going to be -- making new friends, walking in a beautiful park!! I can't
wait. I'm going to be a peeing fool!
Ladee's reply:
OK I'll take it easy on Woofer then, Dylan. I wish I could go to the walk too, but I get way too jealous of other doggies and it makes me want to bite them so bad. I hate when other dogs sniff you, Dylan, so I'll just wait at home and you can pretend it wasn't that fun when you get back (Although Woofer will tell me the truth, so be careful)
Woofer's Rebark:
Yea!! I can't wait for the walk. Since you and I are such pals we can walk together Dylan, and maybe we'll make lots of new friends, I hope alot of dogs go!
Thank you Barbara A. for helping Chay from "Tampa, FL" submit an original reply.
Hello Ladee AND Woofer,
My name is Chay. I have been reading your columns for some time
now, and you BOTH sound like wonderful doggies. The lady that walks me
everyday says that she has had the pleasure of meeting you and that you
are BOTH wonderful. She says that you live in New Jersey. I've never
been out of Florida, so I'm not sure where NJ is. I don't have a
picture of me right now, but let me tell you a little about me. I know I am
special because I only have hair on my head and tail...otherwise, I'm
bald. I love children, but sometimes I get so excited when I see
children, I run up closer to see them. Sometimes they are frightened, but
the lady that walks me makes sure I don't get too close. Oh, I haven't
told you anything about the lady that walks me when my mommy isn't home.
Her name is Barbara and she says that you are both good doggies. She
also said that she loves both of your daddies. There's more to tell,
but I'll save that for another time. Please keep your columns up so!
I can read all about you. Bye for now.
Chay
Ladee & Woofer:
Hi Chay, you sound very cool and different...we like that. Tell Barbara that we miss her too and can't wait to see her this winter!
Thank you Rick for helping Dylan from "Jersey City, NJ" submit more comments.
Dylan's Comment:
Hey Chay! (cool name!) Why doesn't anyone say HI to me? Am I
invisible? Do I not bark?
Ladee & Woofer:
You know we love you Dylan. (Oh you call that a bark..hehe - Woofer)
Thank you Barbara A. for helping Chay from "Tampa, FL" follow-up.
Hi, again. I am so excited to read everyone's comments to me.
Barbara was right she said you were all very friendly. She said Dylan
was friendly, too, but I am a little shy in the beginning. Please
forgive me. Hi, Dylan. Also, Barbara is here telling me that I am NOT
shy. What does she know....she doesn't have a doggie of her own....all
she has is a 'Ronnie', whatever that means.....
I will send a picture of me soon. I feel so special right now....all
of you, including Dylan, have me feel welcome!
Love,
Chay
Ladee & Woofer:
Hi Chay:
I we're not sure exactly what a "Ronnie" is, but I would definitely
tell your friend Barbara to be sure it is spayed or neutered. It does not
sound like something I would want to have reproducing. If it is
anything like my Daddy's Ronnie, I would highly recommend the procedure.
