Woofer's Thoughts:
Wow I guess this Monday our daddies will give us some corned beef and cabbage, and you know Ladee & poppa Greg will be sneaking some green scotch (they don't like beer)...all because it will be St Patrick's Day. Even though alot of the holiday is based on untrue myths (he didn't really chase snakes out of Ireland-though I could!-St Patrick was actually a missionary and came up with the Celtic Cross!), it is still a day of drinking dancing and feasting as it was all through history. Something our daddies won't be taking us to do, is going to the Parade in NYC. It seems like even though NYC is a really cool place, their St Patrick Day parade is still discriminatory, you would think that after all these years (the first parade was on 03/17/1762 in NYC) they would want to include all people.

Ladee's yips:
Mmmmm...green scotch....I know what you mean Woofer, our country always talks about it's freedoms and how everyone can be who they want to be, but it's parades like the one in the city that show that it's not always true. I do believe that it's fine if you have your own personal beliefs against someone, or even a group of people, like if I had a bias against poodles (which I really don't) I wouldn't invite Dylan down to play ever. But if it was a city wide party and even sanctioned by the government - you better believe I would recognize Dylan's right to be there, and would respect that. I thought discrimination was supposed to be wrong, but it seems like there is still alot of it out there and some is very public and accepted...Maybe one day our daddies will be allowed to go and even march with us in the parade, but if not it's just proof that our nation still has along way to go to create equality. And we'll just celebrate as a true American family, ourselves!

Thank you Rick for helping Dylan from "Jersey City, NJ" submit his "rebarks".

Dylan's Comment:
Good points, both of you! Ladee, I guess people have decided that the organization that puts on that parade is a private organization, so that means they can decide who can march and who can't. So, guess what? Me and my daddies won't. There won't be any green worn, and for the one day when everyone is supposed to be Irish (and I guess that means everyone is supposed to get stinking drunk), on March 17, we will choose NOT to be Irish. Apologies to our Irish friends....but discrimination is not a family value.

Thank you Paddy from "SpingLake, NJ" submit a reply about "Cleo".
